We've been practicing getting up and down off the floor with control this term. This is an essential skill that a lot of us need to work on (myself included!). The techniques that we've been using are based on the work of Philip Beach and his Archetypal Postures. If we lose the ability to sit on the floor plus get up and down off it safely, as our ancestors did, then we are limiting our movement potential. My clients will recognise some of the sequences in this video.
